Little Havana is the mecca of Cuban culture in Miami! The infamous Calle Ocho is four blocks of colorful sounds, vibrant music, delicious eats and mucho fun vibes! Every last Friday of each month, on Viernes Culturales, or Cultural Fridays, you can enter paradise locally by taking this FREE historic walking tour throughout the unique Little Havana neighborhood. Viernes Culturales is an explosion of Cuban art and culture and this tour jumpstarts the festivities. Come, explore and learn more about the beautiful stories that contribute to Calle Ocho’s beloved appeal and allure.

Miami has a vibrant Black historic tradition. Overtown, previously known as Colored Town, was considered the “Harlem of the South” attracting some of the best of Black entertainment during the Jim Crow era. And Black West Indian immigrants from the Bahamas and Little Haiti helped founded and developed much of greater Miami. Thus, the Miami Black Heritage Tour spends three hours delving into these enriching cultural enclaves, visiting Overtown, Little Haiti, Coconut Grove and Little Havana to better reveal Miami’s African and Caribbean influences. The tour is family friendly and includes a dynamic lunch experience.

This tour devotes more attention to the former “Harlem of the South,” by showcasing places where prominent Black celebrities such as Lena Horne, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and many more, performed, partied and essentially aided in the development of Miami. On this tour you are returned to the era of renaissance and glamour by enjoying a music listening session by remarkable jazz legends that played in Overtown. Hearty samples of southern cuisine and select wine tastings also accompany the three hour tour to promote a truly signature experience!

For the conscientious spender, here is a tour you can explore on your own accord while also saving some money! This approximately ten block tour surveys the historic architecture of the buildings constructed on South Beach. Walking along Ocean Drive, you can feel free to admire the creatively styled hotels and restaurants that decorate one of Miami’s most popular attractions, while also indulging in the beautiful views of the beach naturally! Be sure to hydrate, wear sunscreen, and a hat to protect you from the bright, but dangerous rays of sunshine.
