Miami's First All-Female Art Fair
The team behind FAIR. (Miami’s first all-female art fair) is back again this Art Basel week with its second event in Miami that is a free-to-the-public alternative art fair, where none of the art will be for sale. This year’s iteration, FREE!, will feature works from some of the world’s most recognized and pioneering artists taking over the Brickell City Centre shopping center. The works will be dedicated to healing – of our nation, our environment, and our communities – in light of the current political climate.
Curated and produced by Anthony Spinello in partner with Swire Properties Inc, Free! will run concurrently with Basel, Dec 6-9, with a special VIP preview night on Dec. 6 (details to follow).
Here’s a glimpse of FREE!’s collection of impactful artworks with a full release below my signature:
Hank Willis Thomas and Emily Shur’s For Freedoms that recasts Norman Rockwell’s iconic family portraits illustrating the basic freedoms with a modern twist that celebrates the countries true diversity
Genevieve Gaignard, whose art actively chips away at stereotypes and cultural norms, will unironically showcase a billboard-size rendition of her piece Counter Fit on top of a Victoria’s Secret, which has been under heat for recent statement against transgender/plus-size models.
