ICYMI: Sagamore Art Brunch
The Sagamore Hotel once again closed out Art Week with the 17th annual Iconic Sagamore Brunch on Saturday, December 8th. The private, invitation-only event in Miami was attended by over 1,500 guests on the hotel’s newly renovated patio and sculpture garden and included two live performances by The Chophouse Band led by rock legend and Grammy Award winning artist Jason Newsted. The event included a contemporary ballet presentation by Grace Arts and the Cuban Classical Ballet with live acoustic interpretive guitar melodies by Cuban musician Alberto Puerto.
Guests who attended the event observed live painting by Noty Aroz and PIMAX, in addition to the immersive experiences that The Sagamore’s visionary resident art advisor, Sebastien Laboureau curated for Art Week. Highlights included Newsted’s solo show in the lobby, FRAME, the incubator of art and immersion and sculptures by Australian artists, Gillie and Marc, presented by Expertisez.com and appraise-art.com. The event also included a large butterfly sculpture by celebrated artist Rubem Robierb, which was a popular photo spot for attendees. Rubem attended the soiree along with his husband, Good Morning America weather correspondent, Sam Champion.
Remarks were given halfway through the sunny afternoon on the hotel’s exterior, from resident art advisor Sebastien Laboureauand Ronit Neuman, co-principle of The Sagamore, who shared her family’s dedication to keeping The Sagamore as an incubator for creatives, artists and visionaries.
Historically, this the signature event for the elite of the international art world including collectors, dealers and artists. Champagne sips and light brunch bites were served including specialty macaroons, freshly-baked pastries, truffles by Bon Chocolatier and made-to-order crepes. In addition to champagne and mimosas, guests created their own gin and tonic cocktails by Fords Gin and East Imperial flavored tonics and sips by Smeraldina artisan water.
The Sagamore Brunch was made possible by Art Week Brunch founding sponsor BNY Mellon Wealth Management and Art Week Brunch sponsors Chubb and The Pronomic Wealth Management Group and the Wells Fargo Private Bank. Partners include FRAME, Miami Fashion Week, Miami New World Symphony, ART REPUBLIC, Perez Art Museum and Grace Arts and Cuban Classical Ballet.
