Best Theaters in Miami
Miami is a young city, growing more and more every day. With that comes entertainment experiences to discover all over the 305. If you’re looking for things to do in Miami that differ from the typical going out and drinking, why not take in some live entertainment. Here is a round up of some places in the 305 to start with.
Celebrating 40 years of preserving Miamis history this beautiful venue was built in 1913, and maintains a full event schedule from comedy nights, and even conferences like the Future of Logistics Summit. With plenty of free parking and several restaurants in the area you’ll enjoy your night out to the often overlooked Overtown neighborhood. Started almost a decade ago by local personality and entrepreneur Rob Lee, this open mic has been held at various venues throughout the city, and even has popped up in Atlanta. Their main home is The Miami Light Project in Wynwood. The stage is open to anyone who wants to sign up, but typically always includes a feature performer. The band is amazing, the drinks are always delish, and the price for a ticket is super reasonable for the production quality.

Tu hablo espanol? Check out this theatre in Wynwood. The service is excellent, and it’s a fun experience to go there and even just hangout if you’re not catching a show. They have live theatrical shows playing back to back, mostly in Spanish! Out back they crated a loungy outdoor space, and feature beautiful works of art throughout. This theatre recently moved from Doral and now sits right in between the Midtown and Wynwood neighborhoods. Check it out pronto!

Rated almost a perfect five stars on google, and that’s hard to maintain when you’ve been around for as long as they have. This bar is a staple of the Wynwood neighborhood. From bingo nights, to live music, if you’re a local in Miami you know you can always count on this spot for a fun night out. They are known for giving underground artists a venue to perform, and keep a packed schedule of events. With their outdoor garden space, and food options you can visit any night of the week and leave satisfied.

Known as “Miamis finest improve theatre” this corner gem in the Little Haiti neighborhood gets packed for their shows. Often I’ve experienced it being standing room only. They have a cute no frills bar, and chill vibe. It’s right down the street from the Little Haiti Cultural Center so if you check them out for a show on Saturday make sure you arrive early to experience the market at the cultural center beforehand.
